Data Privacy Isn’t Simple. Find Out Who Has Access to Your Data.
Aren’t you curious about your digital footprint?
I know I was.
When I downloaded Presence Global, I wasn’t sure what I would find out. After navigating the simple and easy to use interface, I was presented with the sites who had my information in their database. Some I recognized as harmless, raising some feelings of nostalgia, reminding me of where I was five years ago. However, I also noticed some more sinister websites had access to my data. I had never given my information to these companies. I guess that’s what happens when you agree to a term of services agreement without reading it thoroughly.
“But aren’t they using it to make my experience better?”
Well, in some ways, yes, your autofill becomes more personalized to you and, therefore, more convenient. But you’re also allowing your data to be used against you. Whether or not you see it happening, your information is being bought and sold by a plethora of companies. Still, those aren’t the only entities looking to capitalize on your data.
Cybersecurity criminals, hackers, and stalkers are celebrating at the ease of which they can find information and compromise personal accounts and passwords. But it’s not just a blatant illegal activity to be worried about.
Third-party data hoarders, more formally known as ‘Data Brokers,’ are especially damaging because they operate in an invisible market. Data Brokers do operate legally. But since data is bought and sold without any sort of physical trace, it becomes challenging to monitor. It’s no wonder the industry grew so corrupt.
Our mission at Presence Global is to empower our users to take control of their own data. It’s an easy and convenient tool for helping users visualize who has access to their data. From there, it becomes a simple process to opt-out of these data hoarders and protect your information and improve your privacy.
Even if you’re not concerned about your data being compromised, aren’t you at least a little curious about who has access to it?
Download Presence Global and find where your data exists online.
